Western Electric 212G loc R2-6
Western Electric 212G, automatic semi-post-pay payphone or paystation. Similar to the 210 but equipped with a coin return button. An other difference between the 210 and 212 is the 212 has washer rejectors as part of the coin gauge assembly. There was no coin return feature, coins dropped into the correct slots went to the coin box. As semi-post-pay phones worked, the user lifted the handset, dialed the desired number and deposited a dime or 2 nickels when a second dial tone was heard.
